Published on Mon, 21 Apr 2025

On 21 April 2025, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with six leading UAE universities to implement the Universal Design for Inclusion Program. The initiative integrates accessibility-focused learning into university curricula, empowering students to develop inclusive design solutions for people living with MS and other People of Determination. Over 500 students and 45 faculty members will participate across 11 campuses, with immersive workshops, mentorship, and prototype development culminating in awards and incubation opportunities through Sheraa’s Startup Dojo. The program reinforces the UAE’s national vision for inclusion and positions accessibility as a core design principle from the outset of students’ careers.
